AUSTRALIAN WEDGES

This Australian registered Princess 2000HL belongs to Trevor Starr and was taken at a recent classic car show.t

Trevor says ‘I live about 50kms west of Sydney at St Mary’s, not far from what we call the Blue Mountains which is part of a range that stretches all the way from north to south in the state of New South Wales. I have owned the Princess for 20 months, although my wife Gail seems to have claimed ownership. I do all the maintenance and restoration and she just enjoys it.

A friend of mine has a 1975 HLS 2200. There are mine and the blue Wolseley and one I have seen on the web in Western Australia. Also I heard of a green Wedge with an 1800 engine somewhere further west of Sydney.

They were never sold here so all have been privately imported. Mine (Gail's) has AA stickers on the rear window so must have come from the UK. I imagine some came from New Zealand as they were assembled there and so some must have migrated over here. I know of 5 wedges in Australia but think there are probably a couple more around.’

The Wolseley is fitted with aftermarket wire spoke wheels.
