At last, I’ve added a specifications page so that you can see at a glance all the engines, dimensions and performance of the Princess and Ambassador.

After the Top Gear BL special shown on November 25th this website had an extra 80,000 hits the following day, with an extra 15,000 actual visitors. Quite a record! A shame that the cars were quite badly treated, including being filled with water, but as it turned out the Princess came through with the most points and was declared the best car British Leyland ever built. Can’t argue with that!

 

October 3rd 2007,

A new series of Top Gear starts on BBC2 this Sunday (October 7th) at 8.00pm and among a host of features in the new series there will be a BL special which will pit a Princess 2200HL, a Rover 3500 SD1 and a Triumph Dolomite Sprint against each other in a bid to find out which one was the best of British Leyland. The special will be shown on Sunday November 25th. Pictures from the show coming soon.
