The Last Wolseley
According to records this was the
last Wolseley ever built and it rolled down the production line on 11th
September 1975. It was registered LOC 950P, probably to someone at
Austin-Morris, where it then covered some 28,000 miles before being handed to
the Heritage Collection. This car has obviously had some bodywork attended
to, as the coachline continues forward of the wheel arch, (this didn’t happen
until the Princess 2 arrived in 1978) though the reynard metallic paint is
the original colour. The suspension could do with pumping up as well.
Nevertheless, it’s nice to see a wedge in a museum, and hopefully we’ll see a
few more there in years to come.
